Castelrotto – a place like from a picture book

Castelrotto is the main village of the holiday region Alpe di Siusi, which is characterized by South Tyrolean farming tradition. Both local events and daily life show how deeply the inhabitants are connected with their home and land. In fact, there are still twice as many farmers than innkeepers on the Alpe di Siusi. The home village of the Kastelruther Spatzen stages various concerts of the famous folk music stars every year.

With its neat historic center, Castelrotto is the biggest village of the Alpe di Siusi, a vibrant village rich in tradtion with a special charm offering great culinary variety. The farmer's market of Castelrotto offers and sells local products. A stroll around the village gives you some insight in the culture and history of the place and who would like to see Castelrotto and its surroundings from above, should climb the church steeple, which is one of the highest in South Tyrol.
