Deep roots and long traditions

Discover Kastelruth

Kastelruth, also known as Castelrotto in Italian, is the main municipality of the Seiser Alm holiday area. Embedded in the South Tyrolean rural landscape, this village looks like something out of a fairytale book. Don’t be fooled, though: it is very real and deeply rooted in tradition, and its citizens nurture a strong bond with their homeland. A bond that manifests in many ways, including their eager participation in traditional events. These include, among others, the concerts of world-famous local folk band Kastelruther Spatzen. With its stylish hotels and historic town centre, Kastelruth is a charming, lively village that also boasts an intriguingly varied culinary landscape, best explored through the specialities on offer at the farmers’ market.

Climbing the church tower – one of the highest in South Tyrol – will afford you a lovely bird’s-eye view of Kastelruth and its surrounding area. Experience magical witch nights in the summer and warm up during the cold winter months with a traditional mulled wine toast. But that's not all – discover more events here.

Each year in October, the renowned 'Kastelruther Spatzen' Festival takes place in its hometown of Kastelruth, an event that attracts fans from all over the world.

Conveniently situated only a short drive away, SPA Resort Albion Dolomites offers easy access to both the festival and the charming town of Kastelruth.
